On February 9, 2015, the second meeting of the First Technical Committee of the National Research Center for Flame Retardant Materials Engineering was held in Conference Room 1 of the International Exchange Center of Beijing University of Technology. Academician Cai Hongnian, Director of Technical Committee, Researcher Xu Jian, Institute of Chemistry, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Professor Hu Yuan, University of Science and Technology of China, Professor Shi Meiwu, Institute of Military Equipment, General Logistics Department, Zhu Haifeng, Beijing Glass Fiber Reinforced Plastics Research Institute, Tang Anbin, Sichuan Dongcai Science and Technology Group Co., Ltd., Professor Lu Guozhong, Beijing General Academy of Building Materials Science Members such as Professor Li Bin of Northeast Forestry University, Director Yang Renquan of Beijing Science and Technology Commission, Vice-Minister Hu Jun of High-tech Department of Science and Technology Research Institute, Secretary of Party Committee Chen Pengwan of Material College, Standing Vice-President Liu Ying of Material College, Secretary-General of China Flame Retardant Society, Professor Liu Jiping of Material College, Professor Shao Ziqiang and relevant personnel of Engineering Center attended the meeting. Vice President Liu Ying delivered a welcoming speech and thanked the leaders and experts attending the meeting. Director Yang Renquan affirmed the development of the Engineering Center in recent years. He thanked the technical committee, the school and the college for their strong support. He hoped that the Engineering Center would closely integrate the needs of Beijing, build a platform, gather talents, take over tasks and produce results, and achieve greater development. Subsequently, Professor Yang Rongjie, Director of Engineering Center, and Professor Hao Jianwei, respectively, reported on the work summary of the National Research Center for Flame Retardant Materials Engineering Technology in 2014, the work plan in 2015 and the research on the development plan of flame retardant materials.
The Technical Committee fully affirmed the tremendous progress of the Engineering Center in 2014, and made suggestions on its development orientation, research planning, achievement transformation, collaborative innovation, operation mechanism, intellectual property protection, construction and acceptance. It also put forward concrete suggestions on the content of the flame retardant development plan. It is hoped that the Engineering Center will seize the opportunity of the reform of the national science and technology system and stick to its specialty. Long-term, characteristic and advantage, give full play to the leading role of the center, focus on the research and development of key technologies urgently needed in the market, carry out technology integration and engineering demonstration, promote scientific and technological innovation in China's flame retardant industry, and make our research and development capacity of flame retardant materials reach the international advanced level as soon as possible.
Finally, Deputy Minister Hu Jun, on behalf of Beijing University of Technology, said that the school would continue to give sufficient support to the engineering center in many aspects, such as mechanism, system, detailed work, sorting out the development focus, the meeting had outstanding effect and was remarkably constructive. He expressed sincere thanks to the experts and the Beijing Science and Technology Commission for their support.
